On 27th January 2021 the European Parliament Lung Health Group hosted the ‘Towards a European Health Union: BREATHE vision for the future’, the digital launch of the Breathe Vision for 2030. The launch event discussed the current context of health in Europe and the five themes in the Breathe Vision for 2030: Awareness, Prevention, Access, Research, and the impact of COVID-19.

We were delighted to welcome over 200 participants to the launch event, and to hear from leading figures in the field of respiratory health and EU policy including: MEPs István Ujhelyi, Željana Zovko and Sean Kelly; as well as European Commission DG Sante Deputy Director-General, Pierre Delsaux; and Coordinator of the WHO European Office for Noncommunicable Diseases, Jill Farrington. Each speaker presented their vision for the future of respiratory health across Europe and their aims for tackling the COVID-19 pandemic.
